2011 Cessna Skylane (182T)

This aircraft is such a beauty. A 2011 Skylane that is like new. It smells still like new. Has always been hangared and perfectly maintained by Styl Aviation on the Antwerp aerodrome.

sideview

She only has about 160 (Hobbs) hours. The plane has been flown regularly during it's short lifetime.

The Skylane is Cessna's most wanted single engine piston airplane. It carries the Textron Lycoming 540 engine that is the strongest, most reliable six cylinder engine in General Aviation. This engine can deliver 350HP, but in the Skylane it is derated to 230HP. This is a tremendous amount of power for the light Cessna, but for the engine it is no effort at all. This gives you the certainty that it easely gets to it's TBO.

Will this be your future cockpit?

Look at this awesome glass cockpit. Very organised and loaded with features.

Of course, you can also fly this machine by the seat of your pants. But believe me, if you can fly a modern Skylane for a cross country trip, you can imagine yourself flying an airliner. With your flight plan loaded into the excellent Garmin G1000, you can select the autopilot directly after leaving the ground. Having it preselected to the requested altitude, the Skylane will level off, maintain that altitude automatically and takes you through the entire flightplan.

You can select the required instrument approach and the GFC700 autopilot will fly it and even automatically intercept the ILS and keep you on the glideslope. The only thing you have to do is adjust the power settings and at about 100' AGL switch off the autopilot and land the plane. This is single pilot IFR flying without any stress.

Fully Integrated Flight Control System

The Garmin GFC 700 fully integrated flight control system (FCS) comes standard in the Skylane. The FCS provides a standard, three-axis autopilot with precise lateral and vertical guidance and capabilities via airspeed hold, pitch hold, and coupled VNAV features. It's the kind of technology you would see in the most sophisticated business jets. This FCS is a fully digital, dual-channel system capable of using the data in the avionics suite to offer inherent advantages in safety, redundancy, and reliability. The FCS also optimizes performance over the airspeed envelope, providing precise maneuverability in response to the solid-state, MEMS-based attitude and heading reference system (AHRS) data. The GFC 700 builds pilot confidence and optimizes smoothness and comfort during flight.

High and fast

high

Take this bird up to altitudes between 6,000 and 9,000 feet and you will see why flying a Skylane can be very economic too. This aircraft brings you and your passengers to a safe and comfort altitude quickly. Here you can enjoy a pleasant flight above the usual turbulence of the lower altitudes.

This brings you not only comfort, but also a higher airspeed while consuming less fuel.

United states prices! You have to read this!

We have noticed that there are many people who compare the asking prices of General Aviation aircraft that are advertised in US dollars ($) to the prices of the aircraft for sale in Europe. Unfortunately they easily forget to add all the extra costs that are involved in getting the aircraft from the United States (and N-register) to Europe.

There are many extra costs involved, like getting an export license, ferrying the aircraft, the extra insurance for the ferry and the VAT to be paid.

But there is also the fact that the European rules on maintenance are much more strict than they are in the United States or Canada. Even when an aircraft is very young, it will still be possible that costs have to be made to get the aircraft up to European maintenance requirements.

Then there is the IFR situation. If you want an IFR certified aircraft, you have to know that the presence of a DME, ADF, mode S transponder and a 406MHz GPS equiped ELT are mandatory in Europe! In almost all cases this required equipment is not present in aircraft from the other side of the ocean. Mode S transponders are usually only present in aircraft build from 2004 onwards.

Depending on the particular aircraft you have in mind, these costs can easily amount from 15 to 25 thousand euro's and even more!

We just want you to know, so that you do not compare apples and oranges!

Leather seats

Lots of space for pilot and co-pilot and very nice 2-tone leather seats with AmSafe seatbelt airbags for all 4 seats (see complete Skylane specs)

frontseats

Passengers also have a lot of space and communicating is made pleasant with the build in 4-place voice-activated Intercom which has the ability to isolate the pilot or crew from the passengers during busy approaches. To further make their travel a pleasant one, the passengers can enjoy different facilities like a cupholder, 12 Volt outlet, ceiling LED spotlights and an adjustable fresh-air blower.
